Başak Kerimoğlu Şenyurt (Coordinator)
 |
After
graduating from the Department of Psychology
of Middle East Technical University in 1995, I got a predoctoral
fellowship from the Yale University and worked at the Child Study Center of this university on childrens
development. Coming back to Turkey, I completed a master’s program
on institutional program at Marmara University and worked as an expert psychologist
in the commercial sector. With the birth of
my son Can in 2000, I took a break from my
professional career. During this time I had
the chance to observe programs and activities
on early childhood education on abroad. I
followed a training
on Reggio Emilia approach in Italy and visited several schools.
In 2003 after the arrival of my daughter Ada, it was time for me to make
my dream come true. I opened Atölye in October
2003. |
Prof. Dr. Clara Loomnitz (Educational Consultant)

Following my music education I completed a master’s program
on early childhood education. I worked as a
professor at City University of New York and
taught at Pennsylvania Temple University and New York University. Also, I directed
Laboratory Child School. At the moment
I am giving consultancy services to public and
private schools to teachers and families. |
Assoc. Prof. İlgi Ertem (Educational Consultant)

After graduating from the Ankara University Faculty of Medicine
in 1985 I did my specialization on Pediatrics
at Marmara University. Between 1991
and 1994 I also specialized in Developmental
Pediatrics at Yale University where I taught
between 1994 and 1995. Since my arrival back
to Turkey I have been teaching
at Ankara University. Between 1995
and 2000 I contributed to the foundation of
Baby Mental Health Unit at the Faculty of
Medicine.
Since 2000 I have been active in the
establishment of a new program on Developmental
Pediatrics under the Department of Children’s
Health and Diseases at Ankara University. Furthermore,
I give consultancy to projects coordinated
by World Health Organization, UNICEF and the
Ministry of Health of the Turkish Republic. I mother two
children.

Prof.Dr. Efser Kerimoğlu (Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist)

I graduated in 1968 from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine.
I did my specialization in Adult Psychiatry
and worked as guest assistant between 1972
and 1974 at University of Vienna in the department
of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In 1983
I obtained my specialization on Child and
Adolescent Psychiatry from the Ankara University. From 1992 on
I have been working as a professor at this
university and since 1988 I have been heading
the department of Child Psychiatry. Also I
am the founder and director of the Center of Diagnosis, Care and Research
on Autistic Children at Ankara University. Since 1993 I
have been also giving services on Child Psychiatry
from my private office. I am a mother of two
and a grandmother of two. I have extensively
published. |
Nalan Parer (Classroom Teacher)

I graduated from
Levent Girl’s High School Child Development
Department ın 1991. I completed my studies
at I.T.Ü. State Conservatory in 1996 and worked
seven years at Özel Tek Çocukevi (kindergarden).
My husband is also from the conservatory and
is a Professional musician. Since my son Arda’s
birth I am more and more convinced that spending
time with children is all I want.

Aylin Nurol (Assistant Teacher)
I completed my elementary and secondary education in Jewish
High School. I graduated from Rüştü Akın Anadolu
Girls’ High School with a specialization in
Child Development. During my education I did
an internship at the kindergartens of the
Jewish High School. I have been trained in
the ballet since I was 3.5 years old. I love
teaching new things to children, and if they
are happy I am happy. |

Melih Özuysal (Atelier Instructor)
 |
Since 1985 I have been painting regularly at my studio. I
have exhibited my work extensively in and
out of Turkey. I started writing
short stories and poetry during my school
years. I was in search of faces in the stories.
It was during this search that I also started
painting them. That’s why I still love painting
portraits because I am looking for acquaintances.

Güneş Savaş (Art
Teacher)
I was born in İstanbul in 1975. I graduated
from Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts
Department of Painting. Since 1997 I have
been running diverse art projects with children
and their parents in Şahkulu Neighbourhood
of Galata under the name Oda Projesi. Oda
Projesi is an art group that undertakes works
in cooperation with the neighbourhood community
and different artists. It designed many projects
in Gültepe to develop new relations between
Proje4L the Contemporary Art Museum and the
neighbourhood children and schools. Oda Projesi
realized art projects with children in 2001
Gwangju Biennial (South Korea) and in 2003
in Finland with Platfor art gallery.
At the moment, I
am working nationally and internationally
in projects developed only for children next
to my work as an art teacher at Atölye.

Can Erduran (English
Teacher)
 |
I
was born in 1972 in London. I came to Turkey
when I was 14 years old. For 13 years I was
personal assistant to the CEO of a leading
advertising agency here in İstanbul. After
the birth of my daughter in 2001 I proceeded
to work from home. When my daughter reached
pre-school age I had to make the decision
whether I wanted to return to an office environment,
I opted to change course. My heart told me
that I should work with children, shortly
after having made my decision be it luck or
fate I was given the opportunity to do so
and what a reward it has been.

Eda Dede (Class
Teacher)
I was born in Eskişehir. My career with
children started in Hamburg where I worked
as an au pair and learned German. I realized
that I liked this job. I have been working
as a kindergarden teacher since I came back.
I like especially being with small children,
playing and learning with them. Cinema and
jazz after children are my passions.

I was born in İstanbul.
I cook at Atölye. I like cooking. My meals
are delicious. I come to Atölye with my 5
year old daughter Pelin and I enjoy it very
much.

Funda
Koyuncu (Classroom Teacher)
1972 doğumluyum. 1995 yılından
beri anaokulu öğretmenliği yapıyorum.
Atölye kurulduktan bir sene sonra ekibe
dahil oldum. Çocuklarla çalışmayı çok
seviyorum. 12 yaşında Ezgi isminde bir kızım
var. O da ileride anaokulu Öğretmeni
olmak ve Atölye'de çalışmak istiyor.

1989
yılından beri anaokulu öğretmenliği
yapıyorum. Atölye benim çalıştığım üçüncü okulum. Herkes
gibi benim için de işime severek gelmek çok
önemli. Ben bu konuda kendimi çok şanslı
buluyorum. 15 yaşında Dilara isminde bir kızım
var.
Çevremdeki
insanlar mesleğimin çok zor oldugunu
düşünüyorlar, evde tek çocukla
zor baş ettiklerini söylüyorlar.
Benim cevabımsa hep aynı: "Yetişkinlerle
çalışmaktan çok daha zevkli ve mutlu
edici"...
